MONA DI ORIO

Mona Di Orio Parfums is a niche fragrance house founded by Mona Di Orio and Jeroen Oude Sogtoen. Mona Di Orio was a classically trained perfumer who studied under Master Perfumer Edmond Roudnitska. After 15 years as his pupil, she left to found her own house with partner Jeroen Oude Sogtoen.

Jeroen Oude Sogtoen began his career as a fashion designer, later moving to interior design. While working on a hotel design, he launched his own brand of toiletries, Hotel Cosmetics, which brought him in touch with Mona Di Orio. They opened the perfume house together in 2004.

Mona di Orio passed away suddenly in December 2011, at just 42 years old. The beautiful perfumes she created for the perfume house which bears her name continue under Jeroen Oude Sogtoen’s leadership.

Mona di Orio fragrances are inspired by the past, but with an eye towards the future. The company’s first fragrances were introduced in 2006, and a special line, Les Nombres D’Or, inspired by the mathematical concept of the “Golden Ratio,” was launched in 2010. Les Nombres D’Or explore classic fragrance accords such as leather, musk, vanilla, with careful attention to ingredients and proportion, in an effort to create a perfect olfactive harmony.
